Material Handling
FEA for storage racking, pallets, parking systems and lifting equipment, checked against the design code and the loads the structure really sees.

Industry overview
Racks, pallets, mezzanines, parking systems and lifting equipment carry heavy loads every day, often on thin cold-formed sections and bolted joints. An overloaded rack or a connection that slips gives very little warning before it fails. Owners and warehouse operators now want a load rating backed by calculation before they accept a system.
Shirsh Technosolutions does structural FEA of these systems in ANSYS Mechanical, from a single beam-to-upright connector up to a full multi-level structure. We check capacity against the applicable design code and report stress and deflection in a form the client can use for load signage and certification. When a member or connection has to change, we prepare the CAD and drawings as well.
Industry challenges
Thin cold-formed sections where local buckling and connection slip control the capacity
Bolted and hooked connections whose stiffness changes the load path through the whole frame
Rating existing racks and pallets when the original design data is missing
Combining dead, live, impact and placement loads the way the design code asks
How we help

Key trends
Taller, narrow-aisle warehouses that push racks closer to their stability limits
Periodic rack inspection and load certification asked for well after installation
Automated storage and shuttle systems adding dynamic loads to static racking
Lighter, higher-strength steel sections that need closer checks on local buckling
