Storage Rack Stability and Load Certification
FEA-based load rating and stability checks for warehouse racking, decking and pallet structures across India, with a certificate the site can act on.

What this solution covers
Warehouse owners, logistics operators and rack manufacturers need to know what a rack can safely carry, and they need it on paper. Shirsh Technosolutions checks pallet racking, shelving, decking and pallet structures by FEA and code calculation, both for new designs and for racks already standing in a warehouse.
We work across India, from a single beam profile to a full multi-bay installation. The result is a load rating and stability statement backed by calculation, which the client can use for load signage, audits and insurance.
Pain points we address
Racks bought or modified years ago with no load data on record
Auditors, insurers or customers asking for a load certificate
Overloaded beams, damaged uprights or missing bracing found during inspection
A range of beam sections and spans with no clear capacity table
Taller racks and heavier pallets pushing frames closer to their stability limit
What we solve
Safe working load of beams, uprights and decking for each profile and span
Overall stability of rack frames in the down-aisle and cross-aisle directions
Beam-to-upright connector and base plate checks
Pallet and stack-parking structures under concentrated pallet or wheel loads
Re-rating of existing racks after damage, modification or a change of use
Capacity tables and calculation tools for a manufacturer's full range
How we approach it
- 1
Survey the site or review drawings to record geometry, sections, bracing and condition
- 2
Model members and frames in ANSYS Mechanical, with connector stiffness and imperfections where they matter
- 3
Check bending, shear, deflection and buckling of cold-formed members to IS 800 and IS 801
- 4
Combine dead load, stored goods, placement loads and accidental impact as the case requires
- 5
Identify the members that govern and the changes needed to lift the rating
- 6
Issue a certificate and report per site, ready for load signage
Deliverables
Load certificate per site or per rack type
Calculation report with FEA results and code checks
Load tables for signage
Strengthening recommendations with sketches
Capacity calculator for a manufacturer's product range, on request
Expected outcomes
A documented safe load for every rack bay the client operates
Overloaded or under-braced bays identified before they become a failure
Certificates that satisfy audits and customer requirements across sites
Strengthening advice that keeps existing racks in service where possible
Why Shirsh
We combine site surveys with ANSYS Mechanical models and code checks to IS 800 and IS 801 for cold-formed steel. Retail, FMCG and third-party logistics companies use our certificates across their sites, and for manufacturers we turn the same work into capacity tables or calculators that cover the whole product range.
