Full-time
Senior CFD Analyst
Lead CFD analyst role working across HVAC, process equipment, and renewable energy projects — using ANSYS Fluent and OpenFOAM on problems where the flow physics actually matter.

Role
About this role
Run steady-state and transient CFD simulations in ANSYS Fluent and OpenFOAM across project types ranging from industrial systems
Set up turbulence models (k-ε, k-ω SST, RSM) appropriate to the flow regime — not just accept solver defaults.
Perform mesh generation in ANSYS Meshing and snappyHexMesh; own mesh quality decisions including y+ targets for wall-bounded flows.
Analyse conjugate heat transfer (CHT) problems in process equipment and electronics cooling applications.
Conduct multiphase flow simulations using VOF and Eulerian-Eulerian frameworks for separator vessels and mixing tank projects.
Post-process results in CFD-Post and ParaView; produce engineering reports with quantified uncertainty, not just pretty contour plots.
Interface directly with mechanical design teams to translate CFD findings into geometry changes — expect to mark up CAD drawings and explain pressure drop penalties in ₹/year energy cost terms.
Support proposal efforts by scoping simulation hours, defining physics assumptions, and identifying risk areas in new project enquiries.
Contribute to in-house best-practice guidelines and solver settings documentation for recurring problem classes.
Must-haves
Requirements
- Must-have:
- 3–4 years of hands-on CFD experience using ANSYS Fluent and/or OpenFOAM on industrial projects — not just academic tutorials.
- Demonstrated ability to set up boundary conditions, select turbulence closure models, and justify those choices in a client-facing report.
- Experience with at least two application domains from: HVAC, heat exchangers, rotating machinery, external aerodynamics, or process vessels.
- Proficiency in structured and unstructured meshing; working knowledge of mesh independence studies and GCI (Grid Convergence Index) methodology.
- B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical
- Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with UDF scripting in ANSYS Fluent or Python-based case setup in OpenFOAM.
- Exposure to FSI (Fluid-Structure Interaction) workflows coupling Fluent with ANSYS Mechanical.
- Knowledge of IS 659, ASHRAE 62.1, or API 521 as they apply to CFD boundary condition setup.
- Experience post-processing large transient datasets in ParaView with custom Python scripts.
